  • Job Summary

    The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Facilities Management Specialist serves as the primary point of contact to ensure proper functional operations and maintenance of assigned facilities to support the health, safety, and welfare of all occupants. The Facilities Management Specialist manages facility development projects and initiatives.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Provide day-to-day facility operations support for assigned office locations. Oversee maintenance of facilities.
    • Coordinate with building management representatives to address facility issues or requirements.
    • Identify need to engage outside vendors when appropriate. Delegate work to outside vendors as appropriate.
    • Obtain requests for proposal, define agreements, and monitor vendor performance.
    • Travel to WWP regional offices to conduct facility inspections. Communicate deficiencies to applicable resources, determine appropriate actions, and follow through with resolutions.
    • Address and prioritize work order system requests. Escalate to appropriate resource as required.
    • Prepare reports to benchmark facility operations.
    • Maintain preventative maintenance schedules.
    • Maintain and report accurate inventories of equipment and furniture assets.
    • Manage capacity planning information for assigned offices. Maintain current, accurate floor plans and seating charts.
    • Coordinate internal move/add/change activities to increase office efficiency and utilization.
    • Manage departmental projects and initiatives from beginning to end. Prepare and maintain project documentation, e.g., budgets, resources, plans, schedules, and project close-out documents.
    • Effectively communicate expectations and the status of facility projects and initiatives to team and stakeholders.
    • Properly manage the administration of security access control and camera monitoring systems.
    • Process and approve monthly invoices for vehicles, off-site storage, and vendor services.
    • Contribute to facility projects development, i.e., site selection, architectural needs analyses, and test fit plans.
    • Assist with development and monitoring of team’s operating and capital expense budgets.
    • Other related duties as assigned.

    • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret floor plans and detailed construction drawings.
    • Demonstrated understanding of construction process phases: preliminary design, construction document preparation, construction administration, and project close-out.
    • Demonstrated skills using AutoCAD design and drafting technology.
    • Strong customer-service skills. Respond promptly and accurately to requests.
    • Strong project management skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects of varying complexity.
    • Demonstrated ability to respond to changing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, demanding environment.

    Education & Experience Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree. Equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, or experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Five years of experience in facilities management, design, construction, or related field. An equivalent combination of applicable education, training, certification, and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
    • Three years of experience using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.



    • Bachelor’s degree in business, facilities management, construction, project management, or related field.
    • Three years of experience with AutoCAD design and drafting technology.
    • Three years of project management experience.

    Certifications & Licensure

    • Valid state-issued driver’s license required


    • IFMA Facilities Management Professional (FMP)
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
