Public Relations Copywriter Coordinator - Jacksonville, FL
The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Public Relations Copywriter Coordinator will draft assigned content for communication team needs for internal and external electronic and print communications.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Draft press releases, media advisories, written content for newsroom and blogs, executive bios, newsletters, talking points, organizational messaging, preparing speeches for launch events, content for WWP internal and external communications (electronic and print).
Distribute media advisories and content/press releases through newswire distribution and through direct reporter pitching.
Create and edit video and photo assets to accompany written content being developed.
Develop fresh innovative story ideas.
Conduct interviews with warriors, executives, staff, partners, and supporters.
Prepare agendas and presentations for meetings.
Initiate and facilitate media outreach opportunities as assigned.
Work collaboratively and provide support to program teammates.
Develop targeted media lists for news releases, media alerts and other story pitching.
Track and report weekly on individual responsibilities to include pitching efforts, newswire distributions, content creation, campaigns, and successful outcomes from media
Assist communications team with all PR activities.
Assist all WWP teams with PR activities as necessary for special events, fundraisers, and key initiatives.

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, media relations, or journalism required.
Minimum of three (3) years of copywriting business experience in the public relations field required.
Must possess advanced level skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Experience with editing and design of infographics, photography, videography, and creativity, required.
Experience in a nonprofit environment preferred, but not required.
