Job Summary

Wounded Warrior Project’s (WWP) Financial Analyst is responsible for preparation of the annual budget, monthly forecasts, financial modeling, and data analysis to ensure effective monitoring of revenues and expenses, and to assist with effective executive decision making.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Preparation of annual budget for assigned segments of the organization
  • Preparation of recurring forecast for assigned segments of the organization
  • Meets monthly with budget owners to ensure timely expense monitoring and accuracy of forecasting
  • Meets monthly with accounting personnel to discuss budget variances, accrual requirements, and other potential accounting adjustments
  • Performs variance analysis on budget to actual results
  • Develops financial modeling to assist with expense analysis, resource allocation, and decision making activities
  • Partners with budget owners to determine resources required for pilot programs
  • Provides budget training to all budget owners
  • Develops and maintains documentation to support the accuracy and completeness of the annual budget
  • Other related duties, as assigned

  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, especially MS Excel and well versed in data manipulation
  • High level of proficiency in the use of major financial platforms (Great Plains experience preferred)

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business required
  • Three to five (3-5) years of experience (public accounting or large corporate environment) preferred
  • Experience with integrated business intelligence, forecasting, and budget tools preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics & Business Portal preferred

Certifications & Licensure

  • CPA or MBA preferred
