Job Summary

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Project Specialist I is responsible for managing and implementing organization-wide projects, coordinating with WWP team members and third party vendors, while adhering to strict deadlines and budget constraints.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage departmental and company-wide projects from beginning to end
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with management and stakeholders
  • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • Estimate and identify the resources needed to achieve project goals
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate resources and track tasks
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation to include, but not limited to project charters, project plans, RFP’s, process maps, and business requirements
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks, and devise contingency plans
  • Identify, acquire, and manage third party vendors for project resources as needed
  • Negotiate and obtain project statements of work, quotes, and contracts
  • Post-implementation project support as needed
  • Assist with team goals and objectives
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Two (2) years’ project management experience required
  • One (1) year experience with project planning tools preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Visio preferred
