Job Summary

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Compensation Analyst will develop, implement, and administer compensation strategies and programs for the organization to ensure market competitiveness, compliance with all Federal, State, and local laws and regulations (related to compensation) and alignment with the organization’s compensation philosophy. The position is responsible for job evaluation and analysis, assisting with the development of job descriptions, salary administration (policies) and the completion of identified salary surveys when appropriate. The Compensation Analyst will assist in the coordination of the salary planning process and merit process, new hire offers, promotions and market adjustments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Administer the organization’s compensation programs including job evaluation, FLSA determination, market comparisons, job description review and processing of changes to the organization’s salary structures as well as individual teammate salaries
  • Monitor the consistency and effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines, and procedures implementing plan revision as well as new plans which are cost effective and consistent with compensation trends and organizational objectives
  • Manage salary survey participation and analysis
  • Ensure legal compliance for compensation practices by reviewing federal state and local regulations and disseminating, explaining and consulting regarding requirements
  • Perform statistical analysis in order to formulate recommendations regarding wages, bonuses, and annual merit budgets
  • Responsible for the annual merit increase process including transfer of data to payroll, COLA’s input of data into HRIS, and performance appraisal process
  • Responsible for maintaining job descriptions. Ensure all jobs have been benchmarked according to wage and salary benchmarks
  • Responsible for job analysis, job evaluation, and grading of jobs utilizing internal and external market analysis
  • Perform regular audits of employee compensation to ensure regulatory compliance and internal equity across the organization
  • Annually evaluate the compensation program and accompany structures for parity in the marketplace
  • Other related duties as assigned


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Robust knowledge of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and Wage and Hour Laws
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Excellent analysis, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment with constant changes of focus and priorities
  • In-depth knowledge of Human Resources compliance issues and State and Federal regulations  
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills, ability to influence others without having direct authority
  • Well versed in current compensation plan design and market pricing methodologies
  • High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Programs
  • Strong business acumen


Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Statistics or other related discipline
  • Minimum two (2) years compensation experience required
  • Minimum two (2) years HRIS experience required, Workday experience preferred

Certifications & Licensure

  • CCP courses or certification preferred
  • PHR / SPHR and SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification preferred
